More Scheduling
If you’re following me on social media, you may have noticed that I back-added the last two pages very late and not entirely complete. Quite a bit happened last week, not the least of which is, I’m finally going back to work; six months and a week, to the day, of when I was originally given COVID notice.
Not only that, but it’s a full-on teaching gig lasting for the next month, give or take the bureaucracy.
I don’t want to give up on posting three days a week, not yet; so at the very least, I’ll focus on posting something as I can; however, starting… maaaaaaybe next week… I’ll be shifting into a new posting schedule of Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday. At this point, I’m auditing classes on Thursdays, and through most of Quarantine, Lovely Wife and I have taken Friday nights for date nights… and I kinda want those back.
We’ll see what happens, and at some point, I should be able to make my way back and shade/add backgrounds to the last few pages. (And this Tuesday’s will also probably be late.)
Thanks again for reading. Y’all are awesome, and I appreciate your encouragement.
Holiday Weekends…
… make it pretty much impossible to do digital artwork, I’ve just learned. So instead of trying to pull an all-nighter to produce a crappy-looking page, I’m just gonna retroactively call this a vacation (Despite the utter lack of rest) and see y’all on Thursday.
I expect the same will be said for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Easter (and Spring Break), and Memorial Day.
Welcome! And scheduling!
So this is it. Welcome to The Project. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy everything that is to come.
As much as I’d wanted to cram all of the first issue of this story into September, the amount of time it took me to get the first half-dozen pages done (outside of six months of procrastination, art classes, and other quarantine delays) tells me that publishing five days a week is a perfect way to burn myself out quickly; especially since school is starting up again in NJ, and we’re still trying to figure out how my role in it works.
So the posting schedule is officially Tuesday–Thursday–Saturday for now. This could go to just Tuesday-Thursday if I lose my buffer; but I’ll make that call when I get there. Supposedly… supposedly… this gets easier and more streamlined with experience.
Here we go again.
(again. again.)
I need a blog post to see if the formatting for the news page is set up correctly, so here we are, I guess.
If you’re new to this, suffice it to say, this has been a long time coming.
If you’re familiar with the number of false starts that have happened over the years… well, I’m not gonna promise this won’t be the same way. Except the script has been beta-read and I’ve got layouts prepped ahead of time.
The first page is already done, and will go up September 1.
Past that point, I dunno. I’d like to have one page up a weekday until the first issue is finished, but I’m still waiting to find out what work is going to look like when school starts up again in two weeks. The format is designed for three pages a week; I’d be okay with that, too, though less so.
At three days a week, Alpha Testing will take two years to complete.
In two years, Special Project Division might be obsolete.
I might be out of my mind, doing this now. I’m scared to try, scared that it will miss something obvious and piss people off; scared that it will be irrelevant, untimely.
But I’ve been putting this off long enough.
Let’s see if ComicPress works properly, at least.
